Review Summary:

Successor to the brand’s sales leader and most produced car, the Huracán replaces the preeminent Gallardo. However, keeping family traditions alive, the Huracán too is named after a Spanish fighting bull and promises nothing short of a true experience.

A true that offers breathtaking performance.

Will always remain a dream for most of us.

Distinctively Lamborghini; sharing design cues with its elder sibling, the Huracán is as you’d expect from the brand, simply breathtaking. Taut headlamps, jagged contours, and a blacked out honeycomb grille, amalgamate to give birth to the intimidating countenance of the Italian bull. Along the length of the vehicle, its gaping vents not only provide aerodynamic perfection at high speeds, but visual contentment too. Slender tail lamps, quad exhausts, and a collection of crisp creases ensure the Huracán is fit for a Batman film from all possible angles.

2015 Lamborghini Huracan front

Recreating the sensation of navigating a fighter jet, the 2015 Lamborghini Huracán is home to a set of flip switches, sculpted buttons, and an ignition switch that is blanketed by a bright red hexagonal covering. Sporting quite possibly the largest paddle shifters in any car to date, the Huracán makes its sporting intentions even clearer, with a digital instrument cluster that tops out at 10,000 RPM and a dizzying 340 km/h! Enamoured of hexagons, the love for the six sided figure is evident in the silhouette of the A/C vents, the steering wheel, and even the horn that sits above the drive mode controller switch, or should I say the button that reads Strada, Sport, and Corsa?

Equipped with a Magneto-Rheological adaptive damping system, the 2015 Lamborghini Huracán adapts its damping characteristics in just milliseconds. In doing so, the Italian supercar is able to provide the highest levels of driving precision and performance when travelling at the speed of sound, or a comfortable ride when looking for some everyday usability.

What’s on offer?

Weighing 1,422kg and packing in 601 horsepower, the 2015 Lamborghini Huracán is a product of a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.33 kilograms per horsepower. What that equates to, is the demolition of a 0 – 100 km/h run in 3.2 seconds and a 0 – 200 km/h sprint in just 9.9 seconds. Mated to a 7 speed dual clutch transmission, the 5.2 litre normally aspirated V10 engine sitting behind the driver, chucks out 560 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM and sends power through an All-Wheel-Drive layout to propel the 4,459mm long supercar to a top speed of 325 km/h.

Summing it…

Lamborghini or Ferrari, a question that is sure to divide the room in half in the blink of an eye. Rivaling against the Lamborghini Huracán, is the Ferrari 458, a car that not only costs a lot more, but doesn’t have quite the same visual impact or road presence. Demanding a price tag that rockets North of AED 990,000, it’s difficult not to go and book the Huracán right away. If you had the money to begin with, that is…
