2009 Dubai Motor Show: Fiat

Posted on Jan 1, 2010 by

Fiat 500CFiat hasn’t had a presence in the Middle East for some time, but at the 2009 , they were back.

UAE importers Al Ghandi showed off the 500 hatchback – known in Italian as the Cinquecento – and the convertible 500C, which it hopes will provide a rival to the popular MINI. It plans to bring the hot hatch version, the 500 Abarth, to the region later in the first half of 2010.

Powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine, the 500 makes 100bhp and boasts 500,000 possible customisation options thanks to a huge range of graphics, trims and accessories.

Al Ghandi’s CEO Graham Turner said: “We think this model is the iconic fashion symbol of the Fiat range.”

Further Fiat models, including the larger Bravo hatchback, will be launched later in 2010.

Fiat 500 is also available through the Abu Dhabi dealer – Al Fahim Group. They also sell Mercedes, Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge and a bunch of other automotive products. Might be worth checking with them too.

    Hi Naser,

We’re not aware of a Fiat dealership in Kuwait at the moment – as far as we know, the only place Fiat sell in the GCC is in the UAE. We suggest you contact either Al Ghandi Auto (the UAE distributors) through their website at http://www.alghandi.com, or go direct to Fiat at http://www.fiat.com.

If we hear of any plans to introduce Fiat elsewhere in the region, we’ll post something on AutoMiddleEast.com.

    Hope that helps.
