VW Golf is World Car of the Year

Volkswagen’s latest version of the Golf has been named World Car of the Year by an international panel of motoring journalists.
The Golf, which AutoMiddleEast road tested here beat stiff competition from Toyota’s diminutive iQ city car and the new Ford Fiesta.
In the same competition, the results of which were announced at the New York International Auto Show, the Nissan GT-R was named World Performance Car of the Year and the little Fiat 500 was named World Car Design of the Year.
Honda’s FCX Clarity was named World Green Car of the Year.
