2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado revealed
The 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has finally gone on show and will come to the Middle East before the end of the year. The Australian and European versions of the new mini-Land Cruiser have been unveiled. Middle Eastern specifications have yet to be announced, but don’t expect them to be radically different to these. The Land Cruiser Prado is one of the Middle East’s most popular SUVs and interest in the new model has been and will continue to be intense. Toyota Australia revealed images of a pre-production five-door 2010 Prado, while another version went on show at the Frankfurt Motor Show under the European Land Cruiser badge. The larger Land Cruiser that Toyota sells in the Middle East is badged Land Cruiser Amazon in European markets. The 2010 Prado is longer, wider and lower than the previous model and features improved performance, and a range of driver-assist technologies, as well as plenty of features for off-roading. The headlights have a 3D look to them and the ‘belt line’ of the car when viewed from the side is higher. The lower bumpers have been trimmed to make the overhands look shorter for a more agile look. Additionally, the door mirrors have LED indicators integrated into them, and LEDs are also used in the rear lights. The rear window wiper is housed inside a rear spoiler.
Design-wise, the SUV has a more aggressive look and better aerodynamics. It’s 80mm longer, 10mm wider and 15mm lower than the current Prado, giving it a more purposeful stance. It features front and rear spoilers as well as front spats, underbody covers and deflectors while the grille is an evolution from the current model, with more depth and texture.

In Australia, the car will feature a 4.0-litre V6 engine with 275bhp - 10 percent more power than the outgoing version, as well as improved torque and fuel economy and reducing polluting exhaust emissions.
Inside, the cabin has been refined and seven seat versions of the Prado now feature a second row of seats that can slide backwards and forwards by 135mm and fold forward or back in a 40:20:40 split.
