2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

A refreshed version of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has been snapped at a dealer’s stock yard in the Middle East and will be officially unveiled in the region in the next couple of months.

The 2010 Prado seems to be based on the current Prado’s platform and would thus have similar performance and off-road ability.

The big SUV has received an important botox shot and appears fresher thanks to a reshaped facade, swoop back headlamps, new tail lamps, a big integrated sidestep, new alloys and more pronounced body panels.

The new Prado is expected to feature the current models engine range with the possible addition of a 4.6 litre V8 motor in the Lexus variant.

The 2010 Prado is expected to be launched in the GCC by late August.

Expect launch towards end of the year, closer to Eid in all possibilities. Pricing details not available as yet. If something comes up closer to launch, we will post it on the site :)

Hi Shailesh, the word goes that UAE launch of the new Prado is expected in November and starting prices will be near Dhs 150k mark and upwards from there.

Normally any manufacturer does a near simultaneous launch in the region. So if the UAE launch is expected in November, one can safely assume that other GCC markets will also get the 2010 Prado around the same time.

I think that the prado 2010 is in showrooms. i read this in a magazine and i have the book about prado 2010. it is in futtaim motors in UAE.

Sorry Mukesh, thought you were talking about the 2010 Prado. The current Land Cruiser was launched not so long ago. At best there may be some cosmetic changes for 2010, nothing very dramatic.

the new prado is a major disappointment. it looks ugly and the interior is outdated by decades! but yet, people will buy it for resale value and after seeing others buying it. the old one is better.

Dear Disappointed BJD 'BORIS' ; Enough said about what you think on how boring the Prado is.. its only your matter of opinion i understand but i'm sorry to say your absolutely mistaken. This will be the next BEST thing to hit the market. Toyota has finally played the right cards with this particular model. Added all those much needed extras for optimal 4WD performance.

I have a strong feeling you work for some Korean can manufacturer like Kia or Hyundai coz even on the other website your criticizing every single vehicle except for Kia models ... LOL ...

u wanna bet that ppl blindly jump for this car for its resale value only?!!!!!!

It's not true I crticize every other car besides HKAGs. There are lots of other cars tht I praise and respect but some cars from japan (toyota mostly) are the designs I just cant stand. honda is working on it and the jazz is a good example of that. Even from toyota itself I like the FJ's design but thts the only one. anything else I see just seems to prove Toyota cares less about anything else, now that they have the popularity and resale value.
ANd for Kia and hyundai, I give extra info about them rather than actually praise them (I do have issues with some of their designs) but i do see them rising really fast (altho thts not at all apparent in places outside Europe and US).
And no I dont work for Kia or Hyundai. Just closely following them.
and just in case you'd wanna know, I'm more of a lambo fan.

Hello. I am confused. Is the Prado to be the replacement for the current Land Cruiser in the US? I see reports where it is to be the mid-size Lexus in the US. I also saw a video where a Toyota representative said the Prado will not be sold in the US. Will the current Land Cruiser be replaced with a yet to be seen updated version? Thank you.

A souped up version Prado is also sold under Lexus badge in some markets as is the case with LC and LX. Can't comment on Toyota's plans in US since we focus on the middle east region only.
