The Fusion is Ford's mid-size sedan, first introduced in 2006 but extensively redesigned for the 2010 model year.

For 2010, the front, rear and interior of the car have been overhauled, with the car now wearing a sportier look than the 2009 Fusion thanks to a domed bonnet, new headlights, chrome grille and bumper. The aerodynamics have been improved and underbody shields installed to achieve better fuel economy.

Inside, the 2010 Fusion features a more contemporary look with metallic finishes throughout the car and a concerted move away from hard plastics.

Under the bonnet is a 175bhp, 2.5-litre, four cylinder engine, attached to a six speed manual transmission. A six-speed automatic gearbox is also available as an option on the S and SE grades, while the SEL gets it as standard. These replace the 2.3-litre engine found in the previous Fusion, which sported five-speed transmissions.

2010 Ford FusionFord is actively targeting the likes of the Camry, Accord, Altima and Chevrolet Malibu by bigging up its passenger and luggage space, technologies and performance. It also claims that noise, vibration and harshness have been reduced compared to the previous Fusion.

The car is only on sale in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and three trim levels are available. Saudi gets all three trims, Kuwait gets the SE and SEL and the UAE gets the SEL only.

The entry-level S include climate control with a pollution-reducing cabin filter, as well as 17-inch painted aluminium wheels, while the mid-level SE adds in a 12-speaker Sony stereo with a six-CD changer built into the dash and an auxiliary socket for MP3 players. It also features a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with manual recline and lumbar adjustability, as well as a fold flat passenger seat and cruise control. External additions include a dual chrome-tipped exhaust, body-coloured wing mirrors and front fog lamps.
