GM’s luxury brand has just released the new XTS saloon in the Middle East with up to 410 horsepower and priced from just under AED 200,000…

Even though Cadillac makes a full-size SUV and a bunch of crossovers plus their fair share of saloons too, it’s actually a front-wheel-drive based car that is supposed to stand out as the flagship model, at least size-wise.

Yes, it’s weird, but there it is — in any case, the new 2018 is now available in the Middle East, and the good news is you can have it with all-wheel drive sitting pretty on 20-inch wheels provided you splash out on the Luxury or Platinum V-Sport models.

Available now from AED198,500, the 2018 XTS comes to our region with a refreshed exterior design, a spruced up cabin, newly added technologies on-board, and an updated chassis with emphasis placed on ride comfort and reduced noise and vibrations.

We got our first look at the updated Cadillac XTS late last year at the Dubai motor show, so now that the car’s on sale it will go up against some competitive rivals such as the new (which Auto Middle East was quite impressed with — you can check out our review here) and perhaps some other left-field stuff, like the Genesis, the Volvo S90 or the Lexus GS.

The Caddy is now 28mm shorter than the outgoing model, which means it’s also shorter than that Lincoln, and it comes powered by the GM’s 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged V6 which is rated at 410 horsepower and 500Nm of torque. Customers will also have the option of an entry-level XTS powered by a naturally aspirated V6 producing 306 horsepower and 355Nm of torque.

As standard kit, Cadillac includes a limited slip differential, the aforementioned all-wheel drive system, some Brembo brakes up front, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system.
