Land Rover reveals the first teaser pic of two-door ahead of its global debut at

Ironic, is it not? As makers of coupes tread down the SUV path, the creator of the legendary Land Rover is headed in the opposite direction. And here is proof: presenting the two-door Range Rover SV . Or, to be more precise, a top down photo of its cabin, that Land Rover has graciously released before the car’s official global launch at Geneva motor show in March.

Details, as you would expect with any teaser campaign, are scant for now. However, Range Rover does say the new car harks back to the “Range Rover’s two-door bloodline”. Either way, it is going to sell like it’s going out of fashion in two weeks, in our market. We’ve seen people who’ve actually bought a Range Rover Evoque Convertible with their presumably hard-earned money, and it looks, er, let’s say, interesting, in the metal.

Incidentally, 2018 also commemorates Land Rover’s 70th birthday. Expect plenty of hoopla, and hashtags, around the launch of the car.

There is talk of “up-to-the-minute” technology, which could mean Bluetooth connectivity, or perhaps something truly earth-shattering. We guess we will have to wait and find out.

That said, the one area where our skepticism is in short supply is the looks department. Given Range Rover’s new cars, we would bet our bottom dirham the Range Rover SV Coupe is going to be a stunner. Tsk, tsk, BMW X6…

Now, here’s the important bit: Land Rover will only build 999 of these Range Rover SV Coupes, which means they are going to be exceptionally rare. Unless, you live in Dubai where you can expect one driving about three inches away from your rear bumper in the fast lane every 45 seconds or so.
