Nissan’s premium arm is preparing to reveal the QX30 at this month’s Dubai motor show before the brand’s entry-level goes on sale in our region

Set to be revealed at the 2017 Dubai motor show starting from November 14, Japanese luxury marque Infiniti is lunching the all-new QX30 crossover in our region to stretch the line-up to nine models.

The new QX30 will slot in beneath the QX50 as Infiniti’s entry-level crossover, with the brand saying it’s aiming to attract a new generation of younger buyers and win over some conquest sales from rival brands while they’re at it.

Going up against rivals such as Audi’s Q3, the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, as well as the Range Rover Evoque, the comes standard with all-wheel drive capable of sending 50 percent of the available power to the rear wheels.

Based on the Q30 hatchback, the new crossover will be available in our region with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 208 horsepower and 350Nm of torque. On 18-inch wheels with Continental tyres, the car can reach 100km/h from rest in a little over seven seconds, putting the power down to all four corners via a seven-speed double-clutch automatic transmission.

With a height of 1,530mm, the Qx30 crossover is just 35mm taller than its hatchback relative, but with its elevated ride height passengers are afforded better ingress and egress thanks to the car’s higher hip point.

Technologies thrown-in as standard kit include an intelligent key, dual-zone air conditioning, a rear-view monitor, 7.0-inch screen and eight-way adjustable seats.

Peak horsepower is available high up in the rev band at 5,500rpm, but drivability should be improved with maximum torque coming on from just 1,200rpm. You can look out for a full verdict on the Infiniti QX30 crossover here at Auto Middle East soon in the near future.
