The big news over on Cadillac’s stand at the Dubai motor show starting from November 14, is a bunch of rather big cars.

The first of Cadillac’s highlights is the 2018 Escalade full-size SUV (2017 model starts from AED309,900) which is launching in the region with a newly-added 10-speed automatic transmission replacing the old eight-speed. The 6.2-litre V8 rated at 420 horsepower stays, but there are some new additions to the colour palette and extra options offered for the leather interior.

The next regional debut if for the 2018 XTS, Cadillac’s front-wheel drive saloon that’s been on the receiving end of a styling update to the front and rear for its mid-life facelift. The 2018 model also introduces changes to the chassis, with emphasis on ride comfort, and Brembo brakes thrown in as standard kit.

Undoubtedly though, all eyes will be on the brand’s 2018 performance offerings, represented at the Dubai motor show by the 2018 ATS-V and 2018 CTS-V. The latter gets three additional exterior colour options (grey, blue, and something called Genesis Metallic), and Apple Watch integration which seems to be about it as far as 2018 model-year changes go. In terms of performance there was no need to fix what ain’t broken – the CTS-V is powered by a 640-horsepower 6.2-litre supercharged V8, capable of launching the sedan from zero to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and onto a top speed of 320km/h.

Finally Cadillac will also display the Escala concept car in Dubai, which made its premiere last year at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Pay attention to this thing, because it’s supposed to give us a glimpse into all upcoming Cadillac designs.
