This, here, is the all-new Dacia Duster, or, the if you’re reading this in the Middle East. The Romanian car maker, which is owned by the French marque has announced it will reveal the hugely popular at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show.

The newcomer, although not substantially different from the current model, does represent a reasonable aesthetic upgrade from the outgoing car. The styling is sharper than before with a distinctive new grille that flows into the headlights seamlessly, adding visual width to the front.

Other notable change is the addition of a new lighting signature, which includes LED daytime running lights divided into three sections. The alterations to the fascia are punctuated with a larger, satin-chrome-finish skid plate, which Dacia claims is scratch-resistant.

The crease lines of the bonnet, meanwhile, are also much more pronounced than before.

The belt line on the side is higher, while the windscreen is more rakish, in fact 100mm more rakish, than the current Duster. The new aluminium roof bars, meanwhile, “extend the line of the windscreen for a more dynamic profile.”. The cabin, which is thoroughly revised, now features additional creature comforts and equipment — the current Duster is rather spartan, if we’re honest.

The interior is more spacious than before, too, and thanks to the windscreen that’s been moved forward, it should feel more airy, as well. The 17-inch wheels are new and the wheel arches more prominent.

Out back, the haunches are decidedly stronger, and the horizontal lines, coupled with taillights positioned at the crossover’s extremities, heighten the car’s stance. That said, the new rear lighting signature – four red stacked squares – does reek a little too much of the new Jeep Renegade.

The 2018 Renault Duster will also bring with it a new paint finish, Atacama Orange.
