When it goes on sale after the the will start in the AED300k range

Last year when Ford’s luxury brand Lincoln revealed the Navigator concept more than just a few eyebrows were raised — the SUV made its first public appearance in New York, dabbed in blue exterior paint over a blue leather interior, with four captain’s chairs inside and five massive screens, as well as a closet in the cargo area decked out with clothes as well as an emergency phone, binoculars, umbrella, sunglasses, wristwatch, a notepad and pen. Oh, and let’s not forget there were gigantic twin gullwing doors…

Naturally when it came time for showroom-spec the production vehicle has been toned down somewhat and the 2018 Lincoln Navigator doesn’t have a bootfull of goodies including $2,000 Leica binoculars…

What it does have however, is a 2018 Ford Expedition underneath, which makes the Lincoln an aluminum bodied Ford F-150 (they all share platforms) meaning it’s shed nearly 100kg compared to its predecessor that’s been lugging around since 2007.

Like the Expedition that’s coming to November’s Dubai motor show, the Lincoln will also show up in our region with a 3.5-litre twin turbocharged V6 engine, only here it’s rated at 450 horsepower and driving all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission. Fast fact — the same ‘box serves duty in Ford’s Mustang muscle car and its eternal rival, the Chevrolet Camaro.

Currently in the the outgoing Navigator starts from AED315,000 which gives you an idea of the 2018 model’s pricing range.

Going up against the Cadillac Escalade (from AED309,000), the big Lincoln offers three-row seating, a panoramic roof, and LED lighting.

Later on in the model’s lifetime a long-wheelbase variant will join the new Navigator range, but at launch customers will only have the option of the standard wheelbase with either two-wheel or all-wheel drive.
