2015 Infiniti Q60 | new car review
The Q60 by Infiniti is priced a lot more reasonably than its competitors.
It's a little long in the tooth now.
As much as I’m against this whole ‘Q’ naming convention, there’s no denying that the Q60 is a striking vehicle. Flaunting many of the same curves as its discontinued sedan sibling up front, it is at the rear that the Q60 Convertible and Coupe really begin to stand out. Much like couple watches, the Q60 Convertible is likely to appeal to the petite sorts that hail from Venus, while the bulkier Coupe is definitely the one most men would prefer.
Much like the G-Sedan, there is a typical Nissan aura to the interior, but being Nissan’s sibling that enjoys the finer things in life, Infiniti has used better quality leather and softer materials throughout the cabin. The dashboard is fuss-free and quite nicely put together, with the highlight being the infotainment system that sits neatly in the centre.
The feature list on the Q60 is rather long, and surprisingly, the majority of features fall into the ‘standard’ category. Although magnesium paddle shifter, HID headlamps and a 11 speaker Bose sound system are standard affair, the more exciting features such as a rear spoiler, Bluetooth and 4 Wheel Active Steer System (4WAS) are all that you’ll have to dig deeper into your pockets for.
What’s on offer?
Under the hood of the 2015 Infiniti Q60 resides a 3.7 litre V6 engine that whips out 329 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. Mated to a 7 speed automatic transmission with Downshift Rev Matching (DRM), the Q60 reaches the 100 km/h marker at 5.6 seconds in Coupe guise and 6.2 seconds with the top lowered.
If it’s badge appeal you’re looking for, then I’m certain you wouldn’t even consider Infiniti and run straight to the BMW or Mercedes-Benz showroom. And that is fine, but just remember that while you’re there, the Q60 isn’t just better looking, but also a fair bit more financial attractive than its German rivals.
