Lack of rear seat
The 2015 Nissan 370Z is an odd one. It doesn’t have a very pretty face, or a nice rear end, and if it wasn’t for that sloping roofline along the side, it would be considered rather ugly. One thing’s for sure then, the 370Z doesn’t come close to the Hyundai Genesis or Toyota 86 as far as designs go.
With soft leather on the seats and suede along the door panels, the 370Z surely utilizes materials of a better standard than its competition. But with a relatively tight rear seat in the 86, and a full size seat in the Gensis Coupe, the omission of a rear seat in the 370Z costs it a few practicality points.
The 2015 Nissan 370Z is equipped with a unique Synchro Rev Match feature, a World First that essentially drops the RPM’s to the ideal amount with every downshift to provide the best possible acceleration in any gear.
What’s on offer?
The Toyota 86 is equipped with the smallest engine of the bunch, a 2.0 litre that produces just 200 horsepower. On the other hand, 370Z packs in a 3.7 litre V6 that sends 328 horsepower and 363 Nm of torque through a 7 speed transmission to the rear wheels. Impressive, but the Hyundai Genesis kicks it up a notch with a 3.8 litre V6 that produces 300 horsepower, 360 Nm of torque and is mated to an 8 speed transmission!
To put into perspective, the Toyota 86 is available for just AED 95,000, and the Hyundai Genesis Coupe costs a little more at AED 123,000; but it’s still a bargain compared to the AED 139,000 price tag on the 370Z. Quite simply then, the 2015 Nissan 370Z is the least practical and least attractive, but still wears the highest price tag. Does it make any sense to you? Because it doesn’t to me…
