Review Summary:

The fad with compact crossovers continues, now Peugeot have joined the fold with the 3008. Despite its unsightly looks, this may just be a suitable car for the family.

Pros

The 3008 is a convenient car for families with small children.

Cons

Styling isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Looks

The 2015 is not a good-looking car, from the front at least. Being based on the 308 platform, it shares a similar overall style, notably at the back. The rear clusters are nice enough, but they do little to assist the odd styling found at the front. The grille is quite large, so too is the Peugeot badge, which sits ill-placed in its very own cut-out. It is all the more weird when sandwiched between two relatively small head lamps.

Feels

Salvation can be found internally. Although the build quality appears quite rushed, the actual layout is quite smart. A gusset that sits to the right of the gear lever means that all the controls are very driver focused, and there are lots of buttons to play with. The seats seem comfortable if a little unremarkable, but thankfully a decent amount of space should ensure a comfortable ride.

Engineering

Peugeot built the 3008 with families in mind, as such the structure has been reinforced to offer a safe environment. Six airbags have also been fitted. Peugeot have also added some quirky features, such as a Head-Up Display and a panoramic roof.

What’s on offer?

You can choose between the Premium and Standard models, which cost AED 103,000 and AED 91,000 respectively. Peugeot offer 5 years warranty, as well as 1 year free roadside recovery, free registration and free insurance (subject to terms). Both cars come with a 1.6 litre straight-4 which emits 156hp and 240Nm of torque.

Summing it…

The 3008 is not the best looking family crossover, the front end looks like a mad cartoon. But when you look beyond that you will find a car that is very well equipped and has a convenient level of space on hand which makes it suitable for families, particularly those with small children.
