Review Summary:

The 301, which is only available in Middle Eastern markets and not to be confused with the original 301 from 1932, is a European alternative to mainstream sub-compact car class. It’s a basic car, certainly, but its price makes it a logical option.

Pros

Price tag and decent features on Allure model

Cons

Flat styling and no "Wow!" factor

Looks

There is not much to get excited about when looking at the 2015 Peugeot 301. It takes the form of a simple saloon, and similar in design to what you would have scribbled in a school book when you were younger. Peugeot have given the front some welcome curves, but it still looks like what it is: an economical, no frills accessory.

Feels

The interior of the 301 is honest; in no way does it try to fool you into thinking that is more than just a basic run-about, and for that you will be grateful. You won’t feel cheated or let down by the simplistic styling. It’s unremarkable, but comfortable enough at the same time.

Engineering

The 301 is an honest car, and it only comes with the basic provisions that you would expect. That being said, there are some extravagant features on offer, such as keyless entry, ABS, and front and rear electric windows.

What’s on offer?

Peugeot have three versions of the 301 on offer, with the entry-level Access starting at a very reasonable AED 55,000. For a little more you can upgrade to the Active model, which is differentiated from the Access by coming with a cigarette lighter and front fog lights. Topping the list is the Allure, which at AED 55,500 gives you radio controls on the steering wheel, electric mirrors, and leather trim.

Summing it…

Rivals to the 301 include the Hyundai Accent and Chevrolet Sonic, and truth be told it is hard to think of any particular area where the Peugeot is beaten. It shares similar characteristics with all its rivals, without either falling down or standing out in any notable areas. It is much of a muchness; all the basic car that you could ever ask for with none of the frills.

my rating depends on the car’s cheap price for considiration.
    exterior: looks nice and modern.
interior: for its price is great, looks modern too seats are fantastic very comfy, i think windows controls maybe better on doors than middle dash, but it can be lived with, not so dramatic
quality: good, but not the best, didnt expect getting better in this price.
features: very good for it’s price, didnt expect to find cruise control as standard on such cheap car, and very easy to use, its kind of disappointing that it has only 4 air bags
performance: i have the 1.2 engine 82HP, good torque though for 1.2 engine even full loaded can drive it with no issues, but its not a fast car at all.
    value for money: perfect budget.
