Review Summary:

The has shared similar upgrades to its Boxster-brother. An increasingly popular sight on the UAE roads, this model is ideal for those looking to enter the brand.

Pros

Great looks, great feel.

Cons

Not many standard features

Looks

The 2015 Porsche Cayman is a showstopper. Its flowing body takes inspiration from the brand-leading 911, and the general consensus is that it looks beautiful. Enough said!

Feels

The Cayman certainly looks like a Sports from the outside, and it definitely feels like it on the inside, too. The usual high-end materials and faultless Porsche-finishing is all there, matched by a fantastic driving position. You will feel all the sportiness imaginable.

Engineering

The Cayman and the Boxter come with the same tricks. The “Sport” button comes as standard, and when selected the car tightens up to give a greater response to enhance driving pleasure. The engine reacts even more directly to the accelerator pedal, the rev-limiter is adjusted to a harder setting, and the engine dynamics are tuned for performance driving.

What’s on offer?

Four models are on offer, starting with the entry Cayman, moving up to the S, followed by the GTS and the GT4 . The entry Cayman starts at AED 208,900 and will produce 275hp and accelerate to 100kp/h in 5.7 seconds. The S starts at AED 230,900, while the GTS will set you back at least AED 259,700. The GT4, the most powerful of them all, produces 385 horsepower and costs AED 300,500.

Summing it…

The Cayman has been a popular seller for a while now, partly thanks to its 911-like looks. One could argue that it is not cheap, but don’t forget that Porsche are an exclusive brand. Standard features are a little sparse, certainly, but if you want to join the club then this is a great place to start.
