There are 21 versions of the 2015 Porsche 911 on offer, but thankfully most of them look fairly similar to each other. The 911 has always stayed true to its roots, with a brace of sculpted circular head lamps leading a perfectly smooth body towards a tightly packed rear end. What is not to like?!

Here’s the thing with having so many variations of the 911, unless you opt for the range-topping, mega-expensive Turbo S, there is always a chance that when you pull up to the lights, you’ll be alongside someone in a slightly better one. In isolation, however, there is plenty to keep you smiling.

There are plenty of engineering tricks available on the copious 911’s, too many to list here. What is interesting is the Dynamic Engine Mounts, which are electronically controlled to reduce the engine vibrations which in turn will offer greater balance and less background noise. Also available on most models is Porsche’s Dynamic Chassis Control, which in layman’s terms improves handling during sudden changes of direction.

Here’s the problem, there are 21 versions of the 2015 Porsche 911 on offer, each with their own characteristics and options. To give you an idea of the wide price range, the Carrera is the entry 911 and starts at AED 345,900, while the Turbo S (the pinnacle of the range), starts at AED 668,200.

Summing it…

It’s a tough one, for sure. You can get yourself on the 911 ladder for AED 345,900, but don’t expect much in the way of features; these are all optional and are not cheap. If you’re set on living a childhood dream of owning one, then money may not be a problem, but choosing the right one? Sorry, there aren’t two motoring journalists in the world who can even agree on which is best!
