104,000 Jaguar Land Rover vehicles to be recalled
Making up the largest chunk of the recall, is 74,648 Range Rover models built from April 15, 2005 to Sept. 4, 2012. Another 24,679 cars will be recalled due to similar braking concerns: vehicles built from Aug. 16, 2012 to Jan. 8, 2014, and Sport models manufactured from May 7, 2013 to Jan. 8, 2014.
With an estimated 11,000 affected units around the Middle East, Levant and Africa region, the company will replace front brake hoses, which could rupture and slow braking speed, increasing the risk of a crash, according to the notice filed recently.
As many as 4,787 Jaguar XK models built from March 4, 2011 to March 20, 2014 need a software update for their parking lamps as well.
According to sources at Jaguar Land Rover Middle East and North Africa, this recall is a voluntary recall and dealers around the region have already started getting in touch with affected customers. It should also be noted that the repair will be carried out free of cost, in as little time as possible, and without causing too much of an inconvenience to customers.
