Redesigned Kia Picanto set for 2015 Geneva Motor Show debut
Kia Motors Europe is set to unveil the enhanced Picanto at the 85th Salon International de l’Automobile in Geneva on 3rd March 2015. Stylistic improvements see the new Picanto flaunt redesigned front and rear bumpers, and updates to the hallmark ‘tiger-nose’ grille as well.
Bringing with it three different colour packs, the Picanto allows owners to customize their vehicle, according to either a Red Pack, Yellow Pack, or Brown Pack. The Red Pack features black artificial leather and red cloth seats, along with high-gloss red and black door panel inserts. The Yellow Pack on the other hand features black artificial leather and cloth seat upholstery with yellow stitching, as well as a bright yellow dashboard. Finally, the Brown Pack offers brown artificial leather seats, brown door trim and high-gloss piano black dashboard trim.
Inside, a splash of chrome accents surround the driver’s instrument binnacle and dashboard air vents, while a refreshed fascia envelopes the Picanto’s audio system. On the features front, the Picanto welcomes a 7-inch audio-video navigation screen, cruise control, and a speed limiter as well.
Performance wise, an increase in the size of the front brakes from 241mm to 252mm, sees the hatchback stop from 100 km/h in 37 metres – an improvement of 2 metres from the old setup. If trends are to be followed, the refreshed model can be expected to hit our shores by July or so as a 2016 variant.
