Kia Cerato – the region’s favourite?
Kia Motors Corporation celebrated exporting 323,807 vehicles to the Middle East and Africa in 2014, a 10% increase from the previous year. Retaining its number one position, Saudi Arabia recorded a total import 70,241 units – a 70% year-on-year increase.
According to statistics, the most desired Kia vehicle in the MEA region was the Kia Cerato with 54,914 units. The Rio was the second choice with 54,487 units delivered, while the Picanto, and Sportage followed with 53,187 and 47,613 units respectively.
Over at the slightly more premium corner, sales of the Optima and Cadenza increased as well. While the Optima recorded a 69% increase at 29,070 units, the Cadenza topped it off with 5,413 units to gain an 83% increase over the previous year.

Mr. Chung added: “Our results speak for themselves and highlight the progress Kia is making in the delivery of its promise to surprise. 2014’s results have established a strong platform to maintain this growth in 2015, and with exciting new models being launched this year we hope to continue this success.”
