2015 Mitsubishi Attrage | new car review
Priced well to make it stand out in front of its rivals.
It isn't something you'd be caught dead taking a picture of.
In essence, the Attrage is the brand’s Mirage hatchback that has been made more practical with the help of a boot. Sadly, in the process, the delightful looks of the modest hatchback have been lost completely. The hexagonal grille up front and dominant contour along the sides are a neat touch, but simply not enough to make the Attrage stand out.
Unchanged from its hatchback sibling, the Attrage is rather simple on the inside with the flashiest component being a splash of piano black finish to the centre console. Though hard plastic comprises a large part of the cabin, it isn’t tasteless, infact it’s quite nice for a car that costs just AED 38,400.
An extremely tight turning radius, one of the smallest in its class, makes the Attrage easy to maneuver through narrow city streets and crowded parking lots. Drivers of every experience level will find the new Attrage an absolute breeze to handle.
What’s on offer?
Powered by a 1.2 litre 3 cylinder engine, the 2015 Mitsubishi Attrage transmits 78 horsepower to the road that helps it reach a 100 km/h from standstill, in a reasonable 14 seconds. Boasting a top speed of just 170 km/h, it clearly doesn’t encourage boy racer antics, but sipping just 4.8 litres of fuel for every 100 kilometers, it is mighty economical!
The 2015 Mitsubishi Attrage may not be the best looking sedan out there, but when you see the price difference between the competition, you forgive it for its shortcomings. Not only is the Attrage slightly less than the Nissan Sunny, but is guaranteed to save you a princely sum if you opt for it over the Honda City.
