McLaren P1 GTR to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show
Granted, we aren’t exactly close to the 5th of March yet, but the guys at McLaren have already managed to arouse our interest by spilling a few details of the P1 GTR that is set to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
As testing continues across Europe and the Middle East, the McLaren P1 GTR looks set to be one of the fastest vehicles to ever wear the famous McLaren ‘speed mark’. Through significant weight-saving measures, the P1 GTR boasts a power-to-weight ratio that is over 10 percent greater than the standard road-going model. That equates to an absurd 690 horsepower per tonne from the P1 GTR! Now we understand why it isn’t road legal…
The dedicated development programme will continue over the coming months to further tune the performance, aerodynamics, driving dynamics and handling balance to ensure the McLaren P1 GTR lives up to the iconic ‘GTR’ title, made famous by the 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. For those visiting the Geneva show, the P1 GTR will be present in all its grandeur at Stand 1240, Hall 1.
With the McLaren P1 GTR Driver Programme underway as well, envious times lay ahead. Drivers’ will be invited to the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK to start the journey which will see them experience some of the world’s most iconic racing circuits, behind the wheel of a truly spectacular vehicle.
