Lexus bears all with the GS F at the 2015 NAIAS
The 2015 North American International Auto Show is where hybrid cars, electric cars, concept cars, and production cars all manage to mingle with one another. Yet, in the vast and sprawling halls that house these motors, there is one car that manages to stand out from the rest – the Lexus GS F.
Revealed at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the Lexus GS F is the latest addition to the brand’s stable of high performance models. Remaining true to its insignia, the GS F gets its grunt from a 470 horsepower V8 powerhouse that masks itself under the cover of swooping lines and prominent creases that create a truly spectacular outershell.
Based on the standard GS, the GS F saloon retains its four doors and the capability to seat five individuals, making it the largest car thus far to be entrusted with the F moniker. Sitting noticeably lower and wider than other GS models, the GS F’s aggressive stance is complemented with a larger, more pronounced spindle grille, large air vents integrated into the bumper, and a subtle carbon fibre spoiler.
Weighing in at 1,830kg and directing 530 Nm of torque to the rear wheels through an eight speed automatic transmission, the Japanese sports saloon promises rapid acceleration and a top speed to give its rivals a run for their money. With four drive modes available as well, it’s definitely one we’re looking forward to!
