2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan growls into the North American International Auto Show
Mention Cadillac and performance hungry, adrenaline fuelled petrolheads all over the world almost instantly think of the CTS-V. It’s a car that has for long integrated luxury and power harmoniously and continues to do so for the 2016 model.
Being the most powerful vehicle manufactured by the brand in its 112 year history, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V pushes out an astonishing 640 horsepower and 854 Nm of torque from its 6.2 litre supercharged V8 engine. Generating nearly 15 percent more horsepower than its predecessor, the 2016 CTS-V dispatches a 100 km/h sprint in just 3.7 seconds and doesn’t run out of juice until hitting the 320 km/h mark.
According to executives at Cadillac, the 2016 CTS-V is the pinnacle of what a Cadillac is all about, and with it they hope to attract newer, younger, and more affluent buyers to the brand. But the sorts who understand the badge; after all only they’d be able to make use of the fact that the CTS-V is lighter than the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, and Audi RS, right?
Featuring a standard carbon fiber hood and an aggressive splitter on the front, the CTS-V is an outright stunner and an equally good performer with Brembo brakes, magnetic ride control, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and optional Recaro seats at its disposal.
