Review Summary:

The is the brand’s full-size luxury sedan and has been a part of the model line-up since early 2009. Based on the current Ford Taurus platform, the MKS is a front-wheel drive vehicle that faces a fair amount of competition from its Korean rival, the Kia Quoris.

* Neat exterior design and cabin quality.

* It's still a long way off before being able to topple any of the Germans off the luxury sedan podium.

It requires a magnifying glass and an eagle-eyed Lincoln enthusiast to be able tell apart the MKS from its younger sibling, the MKZ. Although they look identical, it isn’t all bad, because with a twin-wing radiator grille, prominent creases along its hood and angular headlamps, the 2015 Lincoln MKS is a striking offering to the segment.

Unlike its younger sibling that falls short in the interior department, the MKS uses all the right materials to target the market it wishes to be considered a worthy competitor in. Plush leather on the seats, wood trim on the steering wheel and bits of chrome around the cabin do a wonderful job of making the interior look as good as it feels.

The Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) system fitted in the 2015 Lincoln MKS makes use of an advanced suite of sensors that monitor suspension motions, body movement, steering and braking inputs every 2 milliseconds. Constantly adapting the suspension to provide the smoothest possible ride at all times, the Lincoln MKS meets the criteria to chauffeur the busiest of execs from one meeting to the next…on paper at least.

What’s on offer?

If you’re against the whole turbocharging phase that is ongoing in the market today, then you’d be delighted to know that there is a normally aspirated 3.7 litre V6 engine that puts out 305 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque under the hood. Mated to a six speed automatic transmission, accelerates to a 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and runs out of breath at 200 km/h.

Summing it…

It looks good, packs in a decent engine, and is at a price that has the potential to arouse your interest. For AED 195,000 the fully loaded variant may seem a little steep, but you be rest assured you’ve made a good decision.
