Review Summary:

Those interested in the 2015 have a choice of the conservative sedan or the outrageous RS 4 Avant in the region.

Pros

* Ridiculous performance if you opt for the RS4.
* Standard features are impressive to say the least.

Cons

* Dull exterior design of the sedan is in need of an improvement.

Looks

Though some refer to the styling as conservative, it definitely isn’t a car you’d look back at as you walked away after parking it. Undergoing only minor changes over the past 7 years, the 2015 Audi A4 looks tired, and dare we say, a little boring. Clearly not one the designers spent much time on, then?

Feels

A sense of deja vu strikes as you glance across the neat and well put together dashboard. A few moments later, you realize the dashboard has been lifted straight out of the A5 with zero alteration or adjustments. In the usual Audi flare, there’s an overwhelming number of buttons, switches and knobs running along the centre console of the A4. Hop into the rear seats and though you temporarily enjoy the capacious legroom, and rear A/C vents, there is no denying that headroom isn’t the best.

Engineering

Bluetooth, cruise control, and a sunroof come as standard equipment in the Audi A4. However, for those looking to spec their A4 out further, a plethora of features are available, including a sport exhaust system, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and blind spot monitoring.

What’s on offer?

The 2015 Audi A4 sedan is available with 4 engine choices. The smallest being a 1.8 litre turbo charged unit that puts out 120 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque; while the largest of the range is a 3.0 litre V6 that’s good for 272 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the performance oriented RS4 Avant is fitted with a 4.2 litre engine that catapults the car to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds before topping out at 250 Km/h.

Summing it…

With prices starting from AED 116,300 for the sedan and AED 290,000 for the RS4 Avant, it’s clear that while both may be from the same family, they’re bipolar opposites in the automotive realm. And just in case you’re wondering which one we’d recommend, yes, it’s the RS4.
