Review Summary:

The Range Rover is perhaps one the most prestigious cars on the market. Practicality may not be an issue since if you can afford one, you probably have another car for lugging furniture around...

Styling and quality of materials used is truly spectacular.

Not the most practical of cars fuel economy or space wise.

The 2015 Range Rover truly is a sight to behold. It seems to have adopted an almost shark-like appearance, with those angry, dark headlights flanking the rounded teeth-like grille. There are even gills on the sides, and one could argue that there is a dorsal fin on the roof. It looks mean, it looks expensive, and it looks brilliant.

Luxurious, comfortable, and elegant. These are just some of the adjectives used to describe the innards of the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover. Certainly, you would be hard pressed to find fault with the refinement, it’s as classy as it is expensive. Unless you are used to a life of caviar, polo, and tea on the lawn, then you might feel a little overwhelmed.

2014 Land Rover Range Rover interior

For all the luxury and leather, the Range Rover is still a fervent off-roader. After all, that’s what it was originally designed for. In keeping with real-life issues, it comes with fuel-saving stop/start technology and is made from lightweight aluminum. This new frame makes the car a staggering 420kg lighter than the previous generation model! For added handling performance, it also comes with permanent 4WD and air suspension.

What’s on offer?

The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover is available in three different models: HSE, Vogue, and Autobiography. They all come with a 5.0 litre V8 engine under the hood and the bar the HSE, with a supercharger as well. Be careful with the four-seat option though, as this will mean you won’t be able to stow the seats to carry larger loads. Not that it will bother the clientele of this car too much.

Summing it

You have the Mercedes-Benz S 600 L and the Range Rover lined up in front of you, which do you pick? They offer similar levels of luxury and comfort, cost roughly the same, and are as prestigious as each other. But can the Merc take you over sand dunes? No, so buy a Range Rover. If you can afford it, then the chances are things like poor fuel economy won’t really bother you all that much.
