2015 Toyota Yaris Sedan | New Car Review
Pros
A colossal step in the right direction from a design perspective.
Cons
Just one engine to choose from.
Looks
Currently in its third generation, the Toyota Yaris looks the best it ever has. Welcoming headlights that pierce their way into the chrome grille, an ascending contour along the length of the vehicle, and tail lamps that wrap around the sides, it most definitely is a massive step in the right direction when compared to the previous generation model.
Feels
With artificial stitching along the dashboard and door panels, accentuated by a combination of silver and black trim, the design is commendable, if only the same could be said for the materials used. Covered in hard plastics, the cabin may be great to look at, but a simple touch and you won’t be fooling your passengers’ into thinking they’re sat in anything more than the ordinary city runner.
Engineering
Part of the feature pack as you climb the spec ladder, is a Smakrt Key; one that not only allows the doors and trunk to be unlatched remotely, but also for the engine to be started with the key in the driver’s pocket or handbag. A small, yet very useful feature.
What’s on offer?
Powered by a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder engine, the 2015 Toyota Yaris is good for 107 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 141 Nm of torque at 4,200 RPM. Mated to a four speed autobox, the Jap accelerates to the 100 km/h mark in 11.5 seconds and is able to charge to a decent 175 km/h before running out of breath.
Summing it…
When lined up alongside the Mitsubishi Attrage and Nissan Sunny, the Toyota Yaris Sedan is the most expensive of the bunch, and for good reason. Being the most powerful and the best equipped, the asking price of AED 53,900 to AED 59,500 is an extremely justifiable one.

Hi. I’m planning to buy a new car and theres a lot of options out there. But I’ve narrowed them down to the Nissan Sunny, Mazda 2, Yaris sedan and Accent sedan.
My question is w/c one would be the best car in the long run. It will be a family car and will be used everyday.
