Review Summary:

It’s a C-segment offering that competes against the Hyundai i30 and Mazda3, and it could very well qualify as being the most striking in the brand’s lineup. That’s the 2015 C4 in a nutshell for you.

* Aesthetically pleasing from both, the outside and the inside.

* Unlikely to seen outside a logical man's house.

It’s sharper, it’s smarter, and it’s everything its first generation sibling wasn’t. In 2015 model livery, the Citroen C4 welcomes taut headlamps that wrap around the bodywork, horizontally split tail lamps, and an oversized lower grille that gives the French hatchback a rather aggressive mien.

Daunting at first, the 2015 Citroen C4 houses more buttons than an analogue control panel, but have a look around and you’ll soon realize they’re all placed right where you want them. With faux carbon fiber along the centre console complementing the silver trim around the A/C and steering controls, the designers have created a rather neat passenger compartment.

Equipped with a portable flashlight which can either be left in its place to light the boot, or removed and used as a torch in dimly lit areas, why other manufacturers haven’t thought of this yet, is beyond us. It’s a small, yet supremely easy addition.

What’s on offer?

Powered by a 1.6 litre 4-cylinder unit that churns out 120 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque, the 2015 Citroen C4 gets mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission and is able to dispatch a 100 km/h run in matter of 10.8 seconds. Directing power to the wheels upfront, the French hatchback runs out of breath once it hits 193 km/h.

Summing it…

It isn’t as straightforward as you might have thought, as the 2015 Citroen C4 isn’t the most powerful, or the best equipped, but yet flaunts the highest price tag among its rivals. While the logical Korean and Japanese hatchbacks cater to satisfy your cognitive appetite, the C4 is one to speak directly to the heart; it’s French after all…
