Kia KX3 concept revealed at the Guangzhou Motor Show
At the 2014 Guangzhou Motor Show, Kia Motors unveiled the KX3 concept – a vehicle it envisions to offer exclusively to the Chinese market. Working as an indication of what to expect from the brand in terms of future SUV’s, the KX3 concept is designed to appeal to the youth of the ever growing Chinese market.
Blending the silhouette of an SUV with a subtle rear spoiler, and the brand’s trademark ‘tiger-nose’ grille with muscular wheel arches and taut headlamps, the KX3 concept is a rather neat one. With decent ground clearance and chrome body cladding around the base, the KX3 concept looks like it should be able to tackle some mild off-road action on the beach effortlessly.
Dimensionally, the Kia KX3 sits 4,260 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, and 1,630 mm tall. With 400 litres of cargo capacity and seating for five, it sounds decently practical too. Being a Kia, a plethora of features can also be expected in the production version if approved.
Powered by a 1.6 litre turbo gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine and paired to a seven speed dual-clutch transmission, the KX3 sounds rather interesting, and with the four-wheel drive powertrain, even more so.
Only time would tell if the KX3 would actually make it to the production lines and more importantly, if we can expect it on our streets in the UAE.
