Review Summary:

The 2015 looks good, is filled with features and wears a reasonable price tag too! It sure is a great way to enter the realm of Korean luxury.

Pros

* No shortage of features, be it safety features, entertainment features, or comfort features.
* Eight airbags in the top of the line variant are a nice touch.

Cons

* Cost cutting in areas such as the instrument cluster is evident.

Looks

Up until the arrival of the Quoris in 2012, the Cadenza was the flagship model in Kia’s line-up. Designed by Peter Schreyer, distinct elements such as the tiger nose grille and Quoris inspired oblong headlights are present. With a decent amount of chrome on the bodywork, a black rear diffuser, oval exhaust tips, and optional 19 inch alloys, the Cadenza strikes a good balance between elegance and sportiness.

Feels

With ample amounts of wood trim running along the dashboard, centre console, steering wheel and door panels, accompanied by a fair amount of leather, the Cadenza feels as good as it looks. For passengers riding in the back, the mid size luxury sedan offers seat warmers, a centre armrest with the option to control the multimedia system, and an exceptional view of the star filled night sky through its panoramic roof.

Engineering

In terms of tech, the Korean sedan packs in a decent amount of safety and entertainment features. With sensors located on either side of the rear bumper, the Cadenza keeps an eye out and informs the driver if there are any obstructions in their blind spots. The Cadenza also makes use of sensors with the Adaptive Cruise Control feature that makes highway cruising an absolute breeze. Audiophiles will enjoy their time in the Cadenza as it is equipped with a banging 12 speaker Infiniti sound system along with an external amplifier for stunning concert hall quality audio reproduction.

What’s on offer?

The 2015 Kia Cadenza is equipped with a 3.5 litre V6 engine that produces 290 horsepower at 6,600 RPM and 338 Nm of torque at 5,000 RPM, while being mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission. A press of the organ-type accelerator pedal and the Cadenza is claimed to complete a 0 – 100km/h run in an impressive 6.4 seconds.

Summing it…

The 2015 Kia Cadenza looks good and is packed with features that the competition surely doesn’t offer in its price range. So if you’re in the market for a mid-luxury sedan and don’t care too much about the badge on the front of your car, the Cadenza may just tick all the right boxes.
