Review Summary:

Gone are the days when pick-up trucks were used only by people who had large loads to tug around town. Over the years, they've transformed into nothing short of big, mighty fashion statements. Though they feel right at home in the city, flick a few switches, and they’re more than willing to get dirty off the beaten path; at least the 2014 is…

* Quieter cabin than before.
* The redesigned mug gives it a much more aggressive persona.

* Nearly as expensive as a premium prick-up truck.

From the looks of it, designers at Chevrolet have spent the last year perfecting the ‘mean mug’. The result is a much more aggressive looking Silverado than ever before. The twin-port grille, full-width bumper and dual power dome hood create a strong presence which is carried through the sculpted body and broad fender flares. As for the rear end, corner steps integrated into the rear bumper along with handholds built into the box, make accessing the bed a lot easier.

Hop into the cabin and the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado feels a lot more solid than the previous generation model, to say the least. This could be due to the new inlaid doors which fit into the side of the body, resulting in a quieter cabin. The upright instrument panel, six-gauge instrument cluster and multiple storage options are all likely to be loved by the typical trucker as well. Additionally, rear doors on crew cabs have been made larger while rear doors on double cab models are now hinged at the front for easier access, especially in tight parking spaces.

Standard on all 2015 Silverados’ is StabiliTrak with Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist. Once you start climbing the spec ladder, features such as Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning with an Active Safety Seat, a large 8” touch screen connected to Chevrolet’s MyLink platform and front and rear parking assist are all available.

Summing it…

With the 2015 Silverado setting new standards after towing up to 3,266 kg with a V6 engine and 5,216 kg with a V8 engine, it clearly isn’t weak hearted. And with prices ranging from AED 143,000 to AED 210,000, the 2015 Silverado is a strong competitor in the pick-up segment.
