The 2015 Hyundai Sonata is ready for its Middle Eastern debut

Motor Company has announced that the will hit Middle Eastern showrooms in September 2014. The Sonata has traditionally been one of Hyundai’s best-selling models across the Middle East, with more than 27,000 units sold across the region in 2013. Since its introduction in 1985, cumulative global sales have reached almost seven million units.

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata is the second model to have been designed using Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 philosophy, following in the footsteps of the All-New Genesis. It boasts a sharper exterior with straighter edges and a rear end that could quite easily be confused with that of its sibling, the Kia Optima.

The new model aims to deliver maximum driver confidence through the inclusion of a host of safety features, as well as a new suspension, which will provide the driver with a smoother overall ride. It also includes additional safety technologies, such as a Blind Spot Detection system, Vehicle Stability Management system, Hill Assist Control, and an Electric Parking Brake.

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata will initially be offered with a choice of two different engines in the Middle East; a 2.0 litre multi-port injection (MPI) and a 2.4 litre MPI, with a 6-speed automatic gearbox available for customers in the region.

Tom Lee, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Africa and Middle East Regional Headquarters, commented: “Our aim was to create a world class mid-size sedan through innovation while maintaining the model’s heritage, and we are confident that the All-New Sonata will prove extremely popular with our customers throughout the region once it has gone on sale in September.”
