2015 Nissan Sunny | new car review
Pros
The 2015 Nissan Sunny has been fitted with some extremely cool technology, such as the Nissan Connect system which allows driver's to access Facebook and Google right from the touch screen display on the dashboard.
Cons
With the Sunny's Korean competitors at a mechanically superior position, it is probably time to bid farewell to the long-past-its-expiry-date four speed transmission and step up to a six speed.
Looks
Targeted at an audience who pay more attention towards the styling of their ride, the 2015 Nissan Sunny is, in essence, a massaged tenth generation model that now flaunts a slightly bolder appearance. It welcomes a larger chrome grille, boomerang shaped headlamps, a redesigned rear bumper, LED turn signals in its side mirrors, and chrome strips along the fog lamp housings and boot decklid as well.
Feels
Gone are the downright economical fittings of the Sunny and in come an enhanced dashboard with piano black trim along the centre console, a Bluetooth streaming enabled audio system, and a steering wheel that has been borrowed from its Sentra sibling. The highlight of the interior, however, isn’t the class-leading space or rear comfort fan, but instead the Nissan Connect system -a segment first- which provides drivers with Facebook and Google connectivity through the touch screen located in the centre of the dashboard.
Engineering
For a car that starts at AED 45,500 and climbs up to AED 54,000 for the top of the range model, you’re probably not expecting a whole lot for that sum of money. But you just might be surprised, as the 2015 Nissan Sunny packs on a drive computer, a thermometer, a fully automatic A/C, an intelligent key with push button start, and power windows all around. Of course, in addition to the aforementioned touch screen and rear comfort fan.
What’s on offer?
The 2015 Nissan Sunny is available in 4 variants; namely the S, SV, SV Comfort and SL. With a 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder engine that churns out 99 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque, blessing the entire line-up, lack of engine choices is a letdown. With the basic S retailing for AED 45,500, and the rear spoiler fitted, Bluetooth equipped top of the line SL retailing for AED 57,500, the AED 12,000 price difference is a justified one (something that lacked in its predecessor).
Summing it…
The Sunny may not seem like a very big deal, but to the brand, it is a volume driver and rakes in 15% of total regional sales. While formerly the Nissan Sunny was a hit with rental companies and driving schools, the addition of newer features and a revised exterior could very well see positive sales growth. For a regular buyer, it’s better features and class-leading space and fuel economy that make the 2015 Nissan Sunny stand out in front of its Japanese and Korean rivals.

Hi Hammad,
You clearly don’t seem too pleased with the Sunny.
If you don’t mind me asking, what car are you comparing it to when you say it’s bad on all counts?
Regards,
Zaran

WHY NOT NISSAN COMPANY BRING A NEW LOOK FOR SUNNY EXSALOON OR SUPERSALOON MODELS IN THERE NEW COMING YEARS, ALL OTHER CARS BRANDS CHANGING COMPLETE LOOKS OF MODELS, I HOPE THE NISSAN WILL GO FOR GOODS SHAPES FOR SUNNY , IF YOU SEE SINCE 2 TO 3 YEARS HONDA IS COMING UP WITH NEW LOOKS IN ALL THERE MODELS ALL ARE ATTRACTIVE SHAPES EVEN IN TOYOTA AS WELL, PEOPLE LIKE THOSE SHAPES
BUT ONLY NISSAN IS STILL RETAIN OLD SHAPES, WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR COMPLETE SHAPE OF NISSAN SUNNY WILL BRING IN THE MARKET ATTRACTION. my self using the Nissan sunny 2005 model which is only good looking shape in sunny the rest is not, bcz other sunny shapes are totally small and dinky shapes.
