The redesigned Sonata was revealed initially in its home market of Korea, but now it’s made its world debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show. The is breaking ground again, this time with a boatload of technology that is not common for a car in its price range.

Being the second car to follow the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy after the Genesis, the 2015 Sonata has waved goodbye to the swoopy lines of the outgoing model and has welcomed a more firm, tightened up exterior that is received with arms wide open. As far as measurements are concerned, the 2015 Sonata is 35 millimetres longer and 30 millimetres wider than the model it replaces.

Once again, the boffins at Hyundai have created a product that is not short of groundbreaking. With an interior that measures in at 122.4 cubic feet, it tip toes into the realm of full-size cars, while its competitors such as the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan Altima are significantly smaller and fall into the mid-size segment.

With the 2015 Hyundai Sonata coming with the same 2.0 litre and 2.4 litre engines found in the outgoing model, there’s not much left to say, except, we’re waiting!

      Hi Richard,

A quick call to the showroom and from what I gather, you can expect it here by January 2015. A new year gift, perhaps?
