Review Summary:

The is a compact-MPV, which has designed solely with families in mind. It seats seven, with the middle row boasting individual seats which will be very appealing, but be warned about the small boot!

Seats 7 and is spacious.

Very small boot.

It is important to look at the Peugeot 5008 objectively. While it may not be oozing style and beauty, you have to remember that there aren’t many MPV’s that do either. The front end is certainly one of Peugeot’s better efforts, with its slim grille and sharp headlamps, but the back does look as if it has been retro-fitted. On the whole though, it is one of the better looking MPV’s.

The interior of the 2014 Peugeot 5008 is a little bland, with very little uniqueness. The centre stack is very driver focused, with the front passenger being left with not much to play with. However, the fact that the second rows of seats are all independent means that you can arrange them in different combinations, which will doubtlessly please the children.

Practicality is the aim of the game with the 5008, and prospective buyers will be pleased with both its looks and capacity for seven people. But be warned, when the third row of seats is up and occupied, you are left with a tiny boot. The perpendicular angle of the tailgate means that you won’t be able to store much at all.

What’s on offer?

You can choose between the Standard and Premium versions of the 5008, which cost AED 92,000 and AED 98,100 respectively. Both cars come with Peugeot’s 1.6 litre turbo charged straight-4 engine. There is not much difference between the two versions, but the Premium does come with a few more little features, such as front parking sensors. Like other models, Peugeot offer 5 years warranty and 20,000km free servicing.

Summing it…

Should you be looking for a 7-seater MPV then price-wise the 5008 is probably worth considering. It is one of the better looking Peugeot’s available, and will provide both safety and comfort for your family. Boot space is the only real negative, and you must consider what you will be transporting before going ahead and buying one.
