The California T has landed on Middle Eastern soil and one thing’s for sure, pictures just don’t do justice to this Italian hottie. With the California being the best selling model in the brand’s line-up, the latest alteration is sure to rocket sales to unseen heights.

Designed by the Ferrari style centre in collaboration with Pinninfarnia, the new California T boasts classic  Ferrari proportions that are reminiscent of legends such as the 250 Testa Rossa. Through the famed pontoon-fender styling and a front wing line that stretches back to the muscular rear, the California T possesses curves that will have you admiring it lecherously, time and time again.

While the rear houses new styling elements such as a triple fence diffuser, the front end features a generous grille that lends the California T an aura of power. The lustrous hood emphasizes the California’s wings that incorporate the sharp head lamps and two characteristic vents that are used to disperse hot air from the engine bay.

In the cabin, it’s a seamless melding of innovative volumes, functional forms and a strong Ferrari feel courtesy of certain classic Prancing Horse styling cues, such as the clear division between the dash and tunnel, round air vents, multi-functional steering wheel and the signature F1 bridge on the tunnel.

In the centre of the dashboard sits the Turbo Performance Engineer (TPE), which is essentially a sophisticated instrument with a digital display and touch-sensitive surround for scrolling that provides pointers on making the most effective use of the turbo charged V8 engine’s performance, in terms of responsiveness and efficiency.

At the heart of the 4,570mm long Italian beauty is a 3.8 litre bi-turbo V8 engine, that whips out a tire screeching 553 horsepower, 755 Nm of torque and an absolutely breathtaking soundtrack. Put the pedal to the medal and the California T rushes through its F1 7 speed dual-clutch transmission to reach a 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds; 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds and continues progressing until running out of juice at the 316 km/h mark.

When the need to stop arises, the California T remains unfazed. With the aid of Brembo’s carbon-ceramic brakes that feature new pad material, the Italian beauty grids to a hault from 100 km/h in just 34 meters!

If you’ve put off buying a Ferrari so far, then wait no more because the California T combines practicality and performance like never before. A seven year maintenance program, combined with a boot that is big enough to carry luggage to the airport, and an average fuel consumption of 10.5 litres for every 100 kilometers, is what the latest Italian has to offer. Should be enough to convince your wife that it’s a practical buy, I reckon.

With bookings currently open and a price tag in the range of AED 845,000 to AED 865,000, get booking so that you can have the newest Italian on the block parked up your driveway by August 2014!
