2015 Hyundai Genesis revealed!

  lifted the veils off its all-new, second-generation Genesis premium sedan in South Korea. Completely redesigned from the ground up, the 2015 is the first car to flaunt the brand’s “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0” design philosophy. The new design gives the rear wheel drive executive sedan a more refined and sportier appearance.

With an overall length measuring in at 4,990 mm, an overall width of 1,890 mm and an overall height of 1,480 mm, the all new Genesis is 4 mm longer and 5mm taller than the outgoing model. To enhance its luxury appeal, the wheelbase has been extended by 75 mm and now measures an impressive 3,010 mm. To put into perspective, the wheelbase of the all new Genesis falls shy of just 25 mm when compared to the standard Mercedes Benz S-Class.

Hyundai’s have earned a reputation for packing in a range of features and the all new Genesis is no exception. Amongst others, the Genesis is home to a CO2 cabin sensor control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, an integrated Head-Up Display and Adaptive Cruise Control.

The Genesis debuts a new HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive system and a new multi-link rear suspension. Engine choices are expected to include a 3.0 litre V6, a 3.3 litre V6, a 3.8 litre V8 and the biggest of the bunch, the 5.0 litre V8. With all the engines undergoing a minor upgrade, the mighty 5.0 litre now delivers 419 horsepower and demolishes a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds!

According to Hyundai, 3,500 orders were placed on the very first day the pre-order books were opened in Korea. Following its roll out in Korea next year, the Genesis will make its way to other major markets such as North America, Middle East, China, Europe and Russia.
