The All New 2014 Nissan Qashqai – Brilliant

Nissan Qashqai

recently unveiled the second generation Qashqai and if we were asked to describe it in 3 words, we’d say “we love it”! The new 2014 Qashqai may be 1.93 inches longer and fractionally lower but as far as visuals go, it is heaps better than its predecessor. Though the headlights do remind us of a Kia Sorento, the 2014 Qashqai finally bears some resemblance to its brother the Pathfinder.

Nissan claims the improvements have been carried on inside as well; build quality and the materials used have been dramatically improved. As far as tech is concerned, the Qashqai is expected to feature Nissan’s Safety Shield technologies that incorporate Collision Warning, Driver Attention Support and Parking Assist.

The entry-level engine is Renault-Nissan’s 1.2-litre turbo engine with 113hp and 190 Nm of torque, tuned specifically for the new Qashqai. The other engine is a slightly more powerful 148hp and 240 Nm of torque 1.6-litre turbo that will join the range in the summer of 2014.

Has the 2014 Qashqai been confirmed for UAE release? If so, when can we expect to see it on sale?

Is there any indication it will be any good off road and compete with the Kia Sportage’s locking diff, hill decent control ect?

      Hi Theo,

I reckon you should be able to see it in showrooms in the second half of the year as a 2015 model.

No official word from Nissan as of now and as far as features go, only time will tell…
