Out goes the somewhat ho-hum designed wedge shaped 2011 and incomes the new with a major updates in the nose, butt and inside the car.

The 2013 Civic gets new front bumper (with fog lamps on some grades), grille and hood. The rear end gets new bumpers, trunk lid, chrome accents and taillights. Restyled wheels are cherry on the cake.

Inside, new soft touch materials, subtle silver accents and new seat fabric say that this car’s interior is an upgrade over the previous one. Could this be saying something about the previous car?

Technology aboard includes keyless entry, power windows and cruise control as standard, while fog lights, sunroof, Bluetooth hands free, rear view camera, steering mounted controls, xenon headlights and 16 inch or 17 inch tires come as you climb the ladder of different grades.

Talking of which, three grades are available – LXI, EXI & VTI. All three ride on the 1.8L, i-VTEC, 16-valve, 4-cylinder 139 hp from the previous generation Honda Civic. Duties of power transfers are entrusted to a five-speed auto box, also carried forward from 2011 Civic.

Improvements in handling and noise isolation are other areas where the 2013 Honda Civic scores. Power steering setup has been reworked and design of front and rear suspension improved, which Honda claims, results in improved ride for its occupants.

Dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes and stability system come as standard on all grades. Over and above, the Civic VTI comes with side curtain airbags.
