The was declared the 2013 World Car Design of the Year on March 28th at the New York International Auto Show.

It competed with 43 cars that were also considered for the prestigious award. This selection was further shortlisted by an advisory panel of design experts before the final consideration by the 66 jury members.

The long wheelbase, short overhangs and flared fenders were some of the important features that contributed to the car’s success in winning the title.

“The F-TYPE exterior maintains ’s own elegance in its horizontal proportion and rounded surfaces, yet it looks very dynamic. The interior design is even more attractive. It is clearly driver-oriented, and a grip bar for the passenger is nicely integrated into the big centre console. The seat design is superb, too.”- The Advisory Panel

Ian Callum, Director of Design for Jaguar, was thrilled to receive the honor and believes that the F-TYPE is a sports car that is true to Jaguar’s design values- beauty of line and purity of form.
