Hyundai’s new ix35 | 2013 Geneva Motor Show

’s new ix35 is what the Korean automakers refer to as the upgraded version of ’s second best-selling car in Europe. The ix35 which is also known as the , debuted in its new form at this year’s . Hyundai also claims to have sold 220,000 units of the C-segment SUV in Europe alone to March, 2013.

Listed below are some of the significant upgrades to Hyundai’s new ix35:

– The 2.0-liter “Theta II” gasoline engine has been replaced with the “Nu”, 2.0 liter GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection)

– The new ix35 offers more power at 166 ps and more torque at 205 Nm.

– Hyundai’s FLEX STEER becomes available on the C-SUV model for the first time

– Three driving modes- normal, comfort and sport

– New alloy wheels (17- and 18- inches with latter offered in a metal grey finish)

Heated steering wheel, front parking sensors, trailow-towing safety function for the ESC (electronic stability control) are some of the other enhancements in Hyundai’s new ix35.

Customers also get the optional 4.2-inch TFT Supervision Cluster displaying variety of information in high-resolution clarit. They can also choose for an upgraded audio and navigation system that comes with a larger 7-inch LCD centre console display.


Driving in dark has also been taken care of with the Bi-Xenon headlamps that are bolted for the first time in this model.  European customers will also receive the added bonus of Hyundai’s Five Year Triple Car with the purchase of the new ix35.

So there are lots of upgrades and enhancements to look forward to in Hyundai’s new ix35. All of them are the brainchild of designers, engineers and developers from the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre (HME TC) team in Russelsheim, Germany.

Availability and pricing in the Middle East has not been revealed by Hyundai yet.
