All-new Ford Tourneo Courier debuts at 2013 Geneva Motor Show
The all-new Ford Tourneo Courier that debuts at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show completes the Tourneo people-mover range comprising of 4 models. These models include the Tourneo Courier, all-new Tourneo Connect (five-seater), Grand Tourneo Connect (seven-seater) and the Tourneo Custom (eight-/nine-seater).
If you and your family are an adventurous lot, you may like what the Tourneo people-mover range has to offer. Lots of space, comfort and efficient powertrains yielding reasonable fuel efficiency and the latest Ford car technologies make all the models of the people-mover range suitable for an active family.
The Tourneo Courier is a five-seater and the American automaker claims it to be the most compact member of the Tourneo family. The Turkish market also offers the same model as a four-seater.
It marks the entry of Ford’s people-mover range into the C- segment. You can choose between 1.5-litre (75 PS) and 1.6-litre (95 PS) Duratorq TDCi diesel engines and the 100 PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine- the “International Engine of the Year” 2012.
The Tourneo Courier is based on Ford’s same small-car platform that was also used in the Fiesta and B-MAX. However, you can tell by its looks that it is long at 4.16 meters. Obviously there is lots of space for all the occupants and their luggage.
The exterior of the car exhibits strong features such as the rising shoulder line, slim headlamps and high-mounted signature trapezoidal grille. The show model in Geneva also had details such as the chrome accents on upper and lower grilles and the two-toned alloy wheels.
As you step inside the car you notice the leather-trimmed upper instrument panel, the part-leather seats, chrome detailing and contrasting read highlights.
Long adventure trips are fun in the Ford Tourneo Courier with smart stowage features such as the adjustable package tray in the luggage area with multiple height positions. Ford has also introduced the mega-centre console that can store A4 documents and small laptops so you can work on-the-go. There is also a drawer under the driver’s seat to store extra stuff.
Keeping your smart devices charged and then safely stored during the long trips is also well taken care of with the unique device dock in the centre of the instrument panel.
Ford Tourneo Courier will be manufactured at an all-new facility within the Ford Otosan plant in Turkey. It will be launched in spring 2014 so you will have to wait for some time before you can see it on the roads.
