Spectators at the Yas Drag Strip in Abu Dhabi celebrated the making of a new world record in the history of Super Street Bikes on March 12. Mishari Al Turki, the Saudi Arabian speedster set a new world record for the fastest time of 4.358 seconds on a Super Street Bike. The previous record was of 4.380 seconds. Al-Turki’s nearest competitor’s best time was 4.44 seconds.
Smashing his own record twice, the racer has broken two world records in the Super Street Bike category making this one his third. Very happy to break his own record, Al-Turki says, “When I first started in this sport it was my aim to be the fastest and now that I am, I want to keep pushing and see how fast I can go”.
The Super Street Bikes are modified versions of road-going bikes like the Suzuki Hyabusa. Technicians modify the suspension, gear changes and the engine to produce a machine that kicks out massive power. Al-Turki customizes his bike himself.
