Rumor mill on the future of GT-R has been running full steam. Not so long ago, many leading automotive websites raised question marks and claimed end of days for GT-R were near. This is not to be. Fact of the matter is that the next generation GT-R was awaiting go ahead from CEO, Carlos Ghosn.

We have learnt that a new generation supercar will surface in 2018. AutoMiddleEast.com has indications that a face lifted 2014 model year GT-R is also in the offering. Substantial changes on the outside, particularly in the front and rear of the GT-R, as well as improved drive line is expected in the 2014 .

Original plans to launch the new generation Nissan GT-R in 2015 were pushed back following departure of Chief Engineer Mizuno-san, who left Nissan due to health reasons. Mizuno-san is now back at Nissan and work on the next gen Nissan GT-R has resumed in full speed.

Nissan isn’t saying much on what the new GT-R will offer. Stay tuned for more.
