The Durango was completely revamped in 2010 for the 2011 model year and the current 2012 version has some very minor changes. This is the third generation of this soft-roader, the 2012 Durango gets three rows of seats and two different engine options.

Buyers can choose from two engines, a V6 or a V8. The 3.6-litre V6 is available only in the base variant and produces 290bhp of maximum power and 353Nm of maximum torque. The mid and the higher end variants get a 5.7-litre V8 engine that makes 360bhp and 520Nm of torque. Both these engines are paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and gets a full-time four wheel drive system.

Standard equipment includes automatic three-zone temperature control. Power adjustable steering column with memory feature is an optional extra. New, available second-row captain’s chairs with integrated soft-touch armrests add to Durango’s spacious interior. These seats are available with cloth or heated leather trim upholstery. A flip-and-fold feature allows the chairs to easily fold flat for optimal utility. An optional second-row center console includes ample storage, a 12-volt outlet, illuminated cup holders and a USB charging port.

Advanced multistage, full-length side-curtain, and front-seat mounted side thorax airbagsare all standard along with ABS and traction control.
