2012 Chevrolet Captiva | new car review

launched a revised Captiva in the second quarter of 2011 and this facelift featured a new front fascia reminiscent to that of the Chevrolet Sonic . Other noticeable cosmetic differences were LED turn signals on the door-mounted mirrors, redesigned wheels and revised side air vents.

The 2012 is a well-balanced crossover offering decent amounts of space and features and can accommodate seven passengers and all that is available at an affordable price. It is not a promising off-roader and offers a stable and comfortable drive in the road.

The Chevrolet Captiva is available with two engine options and as a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive car. The base variant gets a 2.4-litre inline-4 engine with a maximum output of 169bhp and 6-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive only. The mid and the top level variants get a 3-litre V6 engine with a maximum output of 264bhp and gets a 6-speed all-wheel drive transmission. All variants gets 17-inch wheels as standard with 18-inch and 19-inch wheels as optional accessories on the mid and the top of the line variants. The mid and the top end variants also get a Bluetooth enabled music system.

Standard safety features on all models include dual front airbags and ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution. The top of the line variant can be bought with additional airbags as optional extras.
