2012 Ford Expedition | new car review

The Expedition, currently in its third generation and is Motor Corporation’s full-size SUV built to take on the likes of Toyota Land Cruise, GMC Suburban, Cadillac Escalade and the Nissan Patrol.

All variants of the are available in the long wheelbase form and they all get a 5.4-litre V8 engine with a maximum output of 300bhp and 495Nm of torque. The gets a 6-speed automatic transmission with an optional all-wheel-drive system. Buyers can also opt for a 3.73 non-limited-slip rear axle. Other technical stand outs include an all-wheel-independent suspension and a 3.31 non-limited-slip rear axle.

The Ford Expedition offers three rows of seating with bucket seats as options for the second row. The third row offers ample seating for kids and for adults on a short journey. Some notable additional features are Cargo Management System, Dual-zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control and Ford SYNC voice-activated, in-vehicle communications and entertainment system.

The Expedition has some innovative safety features like their propriety AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control), six airbags with dual stage front airbags, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system and trailer sway control.
