2012 Ford Figo | new car review

Posted on Jul 24, 2012 by

The Figo was launched in 2010 and is aimed primarily at emerging markets. This sub-compact car is very affordable and is made in India and exported around the world making it a very cost effective proposition.

Ford claims best in class interior and it as a full five-seater and not a token five-seater. Trunk space is also excellent; at 284 litres it is the best in its class. The base model has an all-black interior with grey highlights while the mid and high level trims get black shade that’s complemented by an aluminium-effect central console and air-con surrounds. The top-end model also gets a coral-hued dashboard. The dashboard and instrument panel is remarkable and provided with some of the most enhanced features like the Bluetooth connectivity with the audio console that you can simply pair up and converse through your phone hands free. The center console integrated with the shift lever provides a place for small items and includes a cup holder, an available audio input jack for your MP3 player, and a 12-volt accessory power outlet.

The Figo is available with two engine options, a 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre petrol. The 1.4-litre makes a maximum of 84bhp and the 1.6-litre makes a maximum of 100bhp. The 1.4-litre is paired with a 5-speed manual and the 1.6-litre is paired with a 4-speed automatic.

All variants get dual front airbags but no ABS.
